Takayuki Kuwata (桑田 隆幸, Kuwata Takayuki, born June 26, 1941) is a famous former Japanese football player. He was born in Hiroshima, Japan. Kuwata was known for being a great forward, scoring many goals during his career. He played for a club called Toyo Industries and also represented the Japan national team.

Playing for Toyo Industries
Takayuki Kuwata was born on June 26, 1941. After finishing his studies at Waseda University, he joined his local football club, Toyo Industries, in 1965. This team was very successful during his time there!
Toyo Industries won the Japan Soccer League championship four years in a row. They were champions in 1965, 1966, 1967, and 1968. This was a fantastic achievement for the team.
The club also won the Emperor's Cup, which is another important football competition in Japan. They won it in 1965, 1967, and 1969 Emperor's Cup. Kuwata was a key player in these victories. He played 62 games in the league and scored an impressive 34 goals. He retired from playing football in 1969.
Awards and Recognition
Kuwata's excellent performance did not go unnoticed. He was chosen for the "Best Eleven" team in the Japan Soccer League in both 1966 and 1967. This award means he was considered one of the best players in the league during those years. He also received the "Silver Ball" award in 1966 for being the assist leader, meaning he helped his teammates score many goals.

Takayuki Kuwata also played for the Japan national team. His first game for the national team was on May 28, 1961. At that time, he was still a student at Waseda University. In his very first game against Malaya, he scored a goal!
In 1962, he continued to play for Japan. He also scored a goal during the 1962 Asian Games. Overall, he played five games for the Japan national team and scored two goals during his international career, which lasted until 1962.
