Takeshi Koshida (越田 剛史, Koshida Takeshi, born October 19, 1960) is a famous Japanese football player and manager. He used to play as a defender. Today, he helps guide the Vietnam national football team and the Vietnam women's national football team as their technical director.

Playing for Clubs

Takeshi Koshida was born in Kanazawa, Japan, on October 19, 1960. After finishing his studies at University of Tsukuba, he joined a team called Nissan Motors in 1983.

Winning Big Cups

With Nissan Motors, Takeshi Koshida helped his team win the Emperor's Cup twice, in 1983 and 1985. The Emperor's Cup is a very important football tournament in Japan.

In the 1988-89 season, his team won the JSL Cup and the Emperor's Cup again. After this successful period, he left Nissan Motors.

Returning Home

In 1990, Takeshi Koshida went back to his hometown. He joined a local club called Kanazawa SC. He played for this team until he retired from playing football in 1996.

Playing for Japan

Takeshi Koshida also played for his country, Japan.

Youth National Team

In August 1979, while he was still a university student, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. He played in three matches during the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship.

Senior National Team

In December 1980, Takeshi Koshida was selected for the main Japan national team. He played his first game against Singapore on December 22.

He represented Japan in several important tournaments. These included the 1982 Asian Games and qualification matches for the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He played a total of 19 games for Japan until 1985.
