Takeshi Yamaguchi (山口 武士, Yamaguchi Takeshi, born June 10, 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder.

Takeshi Yamaguchi was born in Kumamoto, Japan, on June 10, 1979. He became a professional football player.

Early Career and First Clubs

After finishing high school in 1997, Takeshi joined Kashima Antlers. This is a big club in Japan's top league, the J1 League. However, he did not get to play in any official matches during his time there. In 2000, he was loaned to Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League. Still, he did not play in any games for them either.

Finding His Place in the JFL

In 2002, Takeshi moved to Sony Sendai FC. This club played in the Japan Football League (JFL). Here, he finally started playing regularly. He played in many matches over three seasons.

Playing for His Hometown Team

In 2005, Takeshi made a special move. He joined his local club, Rosso Kumamoto. At that time, they were in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He became a key player for them.

The club had great success with him. In 2006, they were promoted to the JFL. Then, in 2007, they finished second in the JFL. This earned them a promotion to the J2 League for the 2008 season.

Later Career and Retirement

Once Roasso Kumamoto reached the J2 League, Takeshi's chances to play became fewer. He continued with the club until the end of the 2009 season. After that, he decided to retire from professional football.

Throughout his career, Takeshi Yamaguchi played a total of 137 league matches. He scored 11 goals.
