Takuya Jinno (神野 卓哉, Jinno Takuya, born June 1, 1970) is a Japanese football manager and former player. He was most recently the manager of the J3 League club Iwate Grulla Morioka.

Playing Career: A Football Journey

Takuya Jinno was born in Soka, Japan, on June 1, 1970. He loved football from a young age. He played for Shutoku High School before starting his professional career.

Early Days with Nissan Motors

In 1989, after finishing high school, Jinno joined Nissan Motors. This team was part of the Japan Soccer League. When Japan started its first professional league, the J1 League, in 1993, Nissan Motors became Yokohama Marinos. Jinno continued to play for them.

Moving to New Teams

In 1996, Jinno moved to Vissel Kobe. This team was in the Japan Football League at the time. He helped them get promoted to the top league, the J1 League.

In 1999, he joined Oita Trinita, a team in the J2 League. He had a fantastic season there, scoring the most goals in the entire league! After that, he played for FC Tokyo in 2000.

He returned to Oita Trinita briefly in 2001. Later that year, he moved to Yokohama FC. He played there until 2003, when he decided to retire from playing professional football.

National Team Experience

Takuya Jinno was part of the Japan national team that won the 1992 Asian Cup. This was a big achievement for the team. Even though he was a member of the winning squad, he did not play in any of the games.

Coaching Career: Leading Teams

After he stopped playing, Jinno stayed involved in football. He worked for Yokohama FC in their youth development program until 2009. This meant he helped train and guide young players.

He then worked for several other football clubs. These included Gainare Tottori (in 2011), Avispa Fukuoka (from 2012 to 2014), and AC Nagano Parceiro (from 2015 to 2016).

Managing Women's Football

In June 2017, Jinno became the manager of NHK Spring Yokohama FC Seagulls. This is a women's football club that plays in the L.League, Japan's top women's football league. He managed the team until 2020.

Return to Men's Football Management

In May 2024, Jinno took on a new challenge. He became the manager of J3 League club Iwate Grulla Morioka. He joined the team after their previous manager left. However, the team was struggling. Jinno tried his best to improve their performance. He managed the team for 11 league games. Unfortunately, they lost 8 of those games and remained at the bottom of the league table. Because of this, Jinno was dismissed from his role in September 2024.
