Talenti is a popular American brand. It makes delicious gelato and sorbet. A big company called Unilever produces Talenti. The brand is named after Bernardo Buontalenti. He is known for inventing gelato a long time ago.
The Story of Talenti
Talenti started in 2003. It began as a small gelato shop in Dallas, Texas. The founder, Josh Hochschuler, created the recipes. He used a special way of making gelato from Argentina.
The shop closed by 2005. But Josh Hochschuler kept the business going. He decided to make gelato for restaurants and hotels. Soon, Talenti gelato was sold in grocery stores too!
Talenti Joins Unilever
In 2014, a large food company called Unilever bought Talenti. Unilever owns many food brands around the world. In 2017, the place where Talenti gelato was made changed. Production moved from Marietta, Georgia, to a big Unilever factory in Sikeston, Missouri. This factory makes a lot of Unilever's ice cream products.
What's Next for Talenti?
On March 19, 2024, Unilever shared some news. They announced plans to sell off their ice cream brands. This includes Talenti, along with other well-known brands like Ben & Jerry's, Cornetto, and Magnum. Unilever wants to focus on other parts of its business. This change is expected to happen by the end of 2025.
