Talenti is a popular American brand known for its delicious gelato and sorbet. Gelato is like a richer, denser ice cream, and sorbet is a frozen treat made from fruit and water, without any dairy. Talenti is owned by a big company called Unilever. The name "Talenti" comes from Bernardo Buontalenti, who is often given credit for inventing gelato.

How Talenti Started

Talenti began in 2003 as a small gelato shop in Dallas, Texas. The founder, Josh Hochschuler, created his recipes based on a traditional way of making gelato from Argentina.

By 2005, the gelato shop closed. Josh Hochschuler then decided to focus on making gelato to sell to restaurants, hotels, and later, grocery stores. This change helped Talenti grow and become a well-known brand.

Talenti and Unilever

In 2014, a large international food company called Unilever bought the Talenti brand. Unilever owns many famous food and ice cream brands around the world.

In 2017, the production of Talenti gelato moved. It moved from Marietta, Georgia, to Unilever's main ice cream factory in Sikeston, Missouri.

In March 2024, Unilever announced a big change. They shared plans to separate their ice cream brands, including Talenti, into a new company. This change is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Other well-known brands like Ben & Jerry's, Cornetto, and Magnum are also part of this plan.
