Tales of Symphonia facts for kids

Tales of Symphonia is an exciting role-playing video game that came out in 2004 for the Nintendo GameCube. It's a fantasy adventure where you control characters and make choices that affect the story.

The Story Begins

The game starts with a young hero named Lloyd Irving and his friends, Genis Sage and Colette Brunel. They live in a quiet town, but soon they must leave on an important journey. Genis's sister, Raine, and a skilled fighter named Kratos join their group.

As they travel, Colette begins to change. She starts to look like an angel, and Lloyd learns that she is chosen to save their world. But not everyone wants her to succeed.

Facing Challenges

Two main groups try to stop Colette. One group is called the Desians. They are the bad guys who force people to work for them against their will. The other person is a woman named Sheena, who at first wants to harm Colette.

However, things change! Sheena and Colette end up helping each other escape from the Desians. After this, they become good friends and decide to work together to save the world.

Unexpected Turns

Just when they are ready to save the world, Kratos, who was their ally, turns against Colette and the others. He joins a group of angels called Cruxis, who control the Desians. Lloyd and his friends manage to escape from Kratos and Cruxis.

They find themselves in a completely different world called Tethe'alla. Here, they meet three new friends: Zelos, Presea, and Regal. Meanwhile, Kratos is still looking for them, and the leader of Cruxis, Mithos, is very angry.

Saving the World

Lloyd's group soon discovers that to truly save their world, Sheena needs to gain the power of eight special "Summon Spirits." These spirits are powerful magical creatures.

But even after getting the spirits' power, the problem becomes even bigger. Lloyd and Kratos, who was once an enemy, realize they must work together to save the world from a giant, ancient tree called the Kharlan Tree, which is threatening to ruin everything.

During their journey, Lloyd learns a huge secret: Kratos is actually his father! Kratos even protects Lloyd from danger. Kratos then tells Lloyd about a ninth, very powerful Summon Spirit named Origin. To get Origin's help, Lloyd has to fight Kratos, because Kratos himself sealed Origin away a long time ago.

After this difficult fight, the Summon Spirit Origin helps Lloyd use a special sword called the Eternal Sword. With this new power, they travel to a place called Derris Kharlan for one final battle against Mithos to save both worlds.
