The Resort's Story

Before it became Talking Stick Resort, this spot was home to a place called Casino Arizona 101 & Talking Stick Way. It first opened in 1999. It had many slot machines and table games. Later, in 2003, it grew to include games like blackjack and poker.

Work on Talking Stick Resort began in September 2006. A company from Phoenix, Chanen Construction Company, Inc., built the resort. The old Casino Arizona stayed open while the new resort was being built. Once Talking Stick Resort opened, the old casino building was sold.

Talking Stick Resort officially opened its doors on April 15, 2010. A big grand opening party happened on June 10. In August 2018, a large storm caused flooding at the resort. This meant all guests had to leave for safety. The resort was closed for over a month for cleaning and repairs. It reopened on September 24, 2018.

Staying at the Hotel

The hotel has 496 comfortable rooms for guests. This includes 15 fancy suites and 30 special executive suites. The way the resort is built and decorated shows respect for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. It uses natural stones, local plants, and colors that match the earth.
