Where is Talmage?
Talmage is found at coordinates 40.531767 degrees North and -96.023678 degrees West.
The village covers a total area of about 0.16 square miles (0.42 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
You can find Talmage southeast of Lincoln and south of Omaha. It's just west of Nebraska Highway 67.
A Look at Talmage's Past
People started settling in the area around Talmage in the late 1850s.
In 1881, the Missouri Pacific Railroad built its Kansas City-Omaha line through this area. This helped the town grow.
The village of Talmage was officially planned on March 7, 1882. A local farmer named Clark Puffer donated the land for the town.
Talmage was named after Archibald A. Talmage. He was a superintendent for the railroad.
A famous person born in Talmage was the film actor Anthony Dexter. He was born there in 1913.
