Story of the Movie
The movie begins with Mametchi, a smart Tamagotchi, finishing his new "Transporter Machine." At the same time, a human girl named Tanpopo is on her way to deliver something to her mom. Both Mametchi and Tanpopo are about to become older siblings, which is a big deal for them!
Mametchi's friends, Memetchi and Kuchipatchi, arrive just as he's testing his invention. Something goes wrong with the machine, and Tanpopo is accidentally transported to the Tamagotchi Planet!
The next day, Tanpopo goes to school with the Tamagotchi children. During a science class, there's a big explosion. Everyone is okay, but Mametchi gets scared and hides. He later explains that he's been afraid of the dark ever since he got stuck in a hole once. He worries this fear will make him a bad older brother. Mametchi built the Transporter Machine to bring himself a private sun for light. He promises to keep trying to make his own little sun.
One day, Mametchi and Tanpopo are at home. Mametchi's dad gives Tanpopo a special key. This key can send her back to Earth, to the exact moment she left. Later, Mametchi's new sibling's egg rolls out the window! It bounces down the street and gets caught on top of a tall building called One Tower.
Everyone on Tamagotchi Planet watches as Mametchi tries to save the egg. Mametchi, Tanpopo, and Memetchi work together. Luckily, Kuromametchi saves them all, using Kuchipatchi as a bouncy trampoline!
Soon, the egg hatches, and Mametchi's little sister, Chamametchi, is born. We see Chamametchi grow up quickly. Meanwhile, Mametchi finally creates his own small sun, called "Mamesunnitchi." This little sun follows him everywhere, giving him light. The real sun of Tamagotchi Planet, Sunnitchi, sees this happen.
After this, the rocket to send Tanpopo home is ready. Mametchi asks Tanpopo to stay for the King's birthday party. Both Tanpopo and Mametchi's parents agree.
The next morning, it's dark outside. Sunnitchi, the real sun, is gone! Tamagotchi Planet has no light. Mametchi and his friends think this is strange but go to school anyway. Later, the planet starts shaking and sneezing! It turns out Tamagotchi Planet has caught a cold because it has no heat.
Mametchi and Tanpopo overhear Principal Mimizu explaining that Sunnitchi left a goodbye note. Sunnitchi was upset because Mametchi made a new sun. Mametchi feels terrible, thinking it's all his fault.
That night, Mametchi quietly leaves his house with Mamesunnitchi. He gets into the finished rocket. Suddenly, Tanpopo, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi appear, ready to help! They give Mametchi the rocket's manual, and he manages to start it. Chamametchi sneaks on board at the last second, so they have to take her too.
As they fly into space, Mametchi's dad and other scientists appear on the screen. They tell the kids to come back. Mametchi explains he's taking responsibility for his mistake, just like with the egg. His dad reluctantly agrees. The scientists had made medicine for Tamagotchi Planet. The pill was on top of the rocket. They only have one chance to give it. Before Mametchi can fire the pill, Chamametchi jumps onto his lap. This makes the rocket go off course. It looks like they failed, but Tamagotchi World manages to absorb the medicine with its "runny nose."
Mametchi is about to look for Sunnitchi, but the rocket spins out of control. They lose radio contact. Mametchi gets very upset and yells at Chamametchi for always following him. Tanpopo tells Mametchi he said too much. She takes Chamametchi to comfort her. Mametchi and the others join them. Mametchi and Chamametchi make up. Tanpopo now understands what it will be like when her own younger sibling is born.
Suddenly, the ship shakes violently. They rush back to the control room. All sorts of objects are flying towards them! They realize they are heading towards a black hole. Mametchi is terrified.
Mametchi tries to escape, but the ship can't get away from the black hole's pull. Then, they get radio contact with Tamagotchi Planet again. One scientist, Professor Mametchi, realizes the "black hole" is actually a sleeping creature called Blackholetchi! The only way to save them is to wake Blackholetchi up. Mametchi turns on the loudspeaker, and everyone on the ship screams to wake Blackholetchi.
A meteoroid hits the ship and blocks the loudspeaker. Mametchi and Tanpopo put on spacesuits and try to remove it. Once it's clear, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi, and Chamametchi start shouting again. Soon, everyone on Tamagotchi Planet joins in! Mametchi finally overcomes his fear of the dark and shouts too.
Chamametchi screams for Blackholetchi to wake up one more time. Then, Tamagotchi World itself makes a loud cry! This finally wakes Blackholetchi. Mametchi is heard calling from inside Blackholetchi. The giant Tamagotchi apologizes and returns them to their ship. Communications cut off again. The people on Tamagotchi World realize the rocket has run out of fuel. There's no way for the passengers to return.
But then, Mametchi's connection is restored! The passengers have returned home. Sunnitchi, the real sun, brought them all back to Tamagotchi Planet. Sunnitchi explains he just left to go on a hot springs tour!
The King's birthday celebration begins with a parade through Tamatown. Halfway through, Mametchi's parents find Tanpopo. They tell her that Cometchi is about to fly by Tamagotchi World. Cometchi can take Tanpopo back to Earth. Quickly, Tanpopo, Mametchi's family, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi go to the meadow to meet Cometchi. Tanpopo finally opens the bag she was supposed to deliver to her mother. Inside is the dress she wore as a newborn. Chamametchi cries because she doesn't want Tanpopo to leave. There's a tearful goodbye, and the Tamagotchis promise to never forget her.
Tanpopo is back at her desk in her room. It's the exact moment before she was transported to Tamagotchi Planet. She wonders if it was all a dream. Then, she sees the special key she was given. Just then, her mother calls, and Tanpopo tells her she's about to deliver the bag.
