Tamsweg is a special area, like a county, in the country of Austria. It's part of the Salzburg region, which is a bit like a state. Tamsweg is also known as the Lungau region. The main town where everything is managed is also called Tamsweg.

This district is split into 15 smaller areas. These areas are called municipalities. Three of these are bigger towns known as market towns.
