Tangerine Dream is a famous German music band. They started making music in 1967. This group was very important for electronic music. Electronic music uses computers and machines to create sounds.
Tangerine Dream helped create a style called the Berlin School. Other bands like Ash Ra Tempel and Agitation Free were also part of this. Their early music is often called Krautrock. Krautrock is a type of experimental rock music from Germany.
Some people think their music is New Age. New Age music is often calming and relaxing. However, the band itself does not agree with this idea. Their music can also sound like symphonic music or ambient music. Ambient music creates a mood or atmosphere. They often used sounds made only by electronic instruments. The band was also influenced by rock music.
