Tania Candiani was born in 1974 in Mexico City. She is a talented Mexican artist. Tania is famous for making big art projects that use many different types of media. These are called multimedia installations. In 2011, she received a special award called a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Tania Candiani's Artworks
Tania Candiani's art has been shown all over the world. Her work has been seen in places like Lithuania, Florida, and California. Many museums own her art. These include the Centro Cultural Tijuana and the Museum of Latin American Art.
First Solo Show
Her very first solo museum show was in 2012. It was called Cinco variaciones sobre circunstancias fónicas y una pausa. This show took place at the Laboratorio de Arte Alameda in Mexico City.
Big Exhibitions and Awards
Tania's art was chosen for the Mexican Pavilion in 2015. This was for a very important art event called the Venice Biennale. In 2019, she showed her work Reverencia at the "Platform" section of the Armory Show.
She was a resident artist in 2010 at the International Studio & Curatorial Program. This program helps artists grow. It was supported by FONCA, a special fund for culture and arts.
In 2011, Tania won a Guggenheim Fellowship for Fine Arts. During this time, she explored how our homes, clothes, and who we are connect. In 2018, she was a visiting artist at Arizona State University.
Recent Exhibitions
In 2022, a solo exhibition called Tania Candiani: For the Animals was shown. It was at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver in Colorado. For this show, Tania spent two years studying a natural rock formation in Arizona. This formation is called Hole in the Rock.
Her exhibition Waterbirds: Migratory Sound Flow was shown at Locust Project in Miami. This art piece focused on sounds and water from Mexico and South Florida. It was first made for the 23rd Biennale of Sydney in Australia.
In 2024, the Pérez Art Museum Miami opened Tania Candiani: Pulso. This show featured her three-channel video artwork called Pulse. This artwork was created between 2016 and 2018. It shows a performance Tania organized in 2016 in Mexico City. Nearly 200 women took part. They played an old instrument called the teponaztli. The film celebrates indigenous culture and the strong bonds between women. It also explores spiritual beliefs about land.
Another of her works, Monumentos Efímiros (2019), is being shown. It is part of For The Days That Build Us (2024-2025). This is a video streaming project by PAMMTV at the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Art in Collections
Tania Candiani's three-channel video installation Pulso (Pulse) is now part of the collection at the Pérez Art Museum Miami. This artwork was made between 2016 and 2018. It is being featured in the museum's collection display for 2024.
