A Star Gave it its Name
The pastry became famous thanks to a movie star! In 1955, the famous French actress Brigitte Bardot was in Saint-Tropez. She was filming a movie called And God Created Woman. Brigitte Bardot loved Alexandre Micka's dessert so much that she gave it its name: "Tarte tropézienne." This means "tart from Saint-Tropez."
