The Story of Tasti D-Lite
New Owners and Growth
In 2007, a company called SPG Partners LLC bought Tasti D-Lite. They announced that James H. Amos would become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The company's main office moved to Franklin, Tennessee at that time.
Later in 2007, Tasti D-Lite launched a brand new website. This website showed the nutrition facts for over 100 different flavors of their frozen desserts.
Expanding Across the World
In 2008, Tasti D-Lite decided to let other people open their own Tasti D-Lite stores. This is called a franchise. This plan helped the company grow in the United States and in other countries. Many of the original stores also chose to become franchises.
The first international agreement was signed in 2008 for stores in South Korea. This meant Tasti D-Lite was starting to become a global brand.
Joining Kahala Brands
In June 2015, a large company called Kahala Brands bought Tasti D-Lite. Kahala Brands also bought another smoothie chain called Planet Smoothie at the same time.
Kahala Brands is owned by the Serruya family from Canada. They own many other popular fast food and treat chains. Some of these include Blimpie and Cold Stone Creamery.
After this purchase, all 128 Tasti D-Lite and Planet Smoothie locations began to be managed from the Kahala Brands main office. This office is located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
