Tatiana Mikhailovna Turanskaya was born on November 20, 1972, in the Odesa Oblast of what was then the Ukrainian SSR. She is a politician from Transnistria, a small country that is not widely recognized by other nations. Tatiana Turanskaya served as the Prime Minister of Transnistria for two different periods.
Becoming Prime Minister
Tatiana Turanskaya first became the Prime Minister of Transnistria on July 10, 2013. She took over from Pyotr Stepanov, who had resigned to start a new job. As Prime Minister, she was in charge of the government and its daily operations.
In August 2013, she met with members of the Supreme Council. This council is like the parliament or main law-making body in Transnistria. During their meeting, she discussed important government issues for the Slobozia District.
Temporary Step Down and Return
In 2015, Tatiana Turanskaya decided to run in the 2015 Transnistrian legislative election. Because she was running for election, she temporarily stepped down from her role as Prime Minister.
Her deputy, Maya Parnas, took over as acting Prime Minister during this time. Maya Parnas served from October 13, 2015, until the election day on November 30, 2015.
End of Her Term
After the election, Tatiana Turanskaya briefly returned to her position. However, on December 2, 2015, she was officially removed from her post by President Yevgeny Shevchuk.
Once again, Maya Parnas stepped in to replace her as the acting Prime Minister.
