Pyotr Petrovich Stepanov (Russian: Пётр Петро́вич Степа́нов; born on January 2, 1959) is a politician from a place called Transnistria. He was the first ever Prime Minister of Transnistria. He held this important job from January 18, 2012, until July 10, 2013.
Becoming Prime Minister
Pyotr Stepanov was chosen for the role of Prime Minister by the new President, Yevgeny Shevchuk. A group of politicians called the Renewal Party fully supported him. This meant he had a lot of backing to lead the government.
Leaving Office
On July 10, 2013, Pyotr Stepanov decided to retire from his position. On the very same day, President Shevchuk suggested Tatiana Turanskaya to take over. She was already a Deputy Prime Minister. After answering questions about her plans, the Supreme Council (like a parliament) voted for her. Tatiana Turanskaya then became the second Prime Minister of Transnistria.
