History of the Position
The role of Chairman of the Government has changed over time in Transnistria.
Early Days of the Role
From September to November 1990, there was a separate position called Chairman of the Government. Stanislav Moroz was the acting person in this role. After that, the job was removed. For many years, until 2012, the President was also the head of the government.
Reintroducing the Role
The job of Prime Minister was brought back on January 1, 2012. This happened because of changes made to Transnistria's Constitution in June 2011.
