Tatsu
Tatsu's amazing pretzel loop.

Tatsu means "Dragon" in Japanese. It is a thrilling steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, United States. This exciting ride first opened to the public on May 13, 2006. Many people consider Tatsu to be one of the most famous roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Tatsu is found in the Samurai Summit area of the park. It is a special "flying type" roller coaster. This means that riders are suspended below the track. You are secured so your back is parallel to the track, making you feel like you are flying! The ride can reach a top speed of 62 miles per hour. It also holds a record for its huge 124-foot (38 m) pretzel loop. Tatsu is also the only flying coaster that has a "Zero-gravity roll."

Tatsu's Unique Features

Tatsu is known for its special design and exciting elements. These features make it different from other roller coasters.

Flying Coaster Experience

When you ride Tatsu, you don't sit upright like on most coasters. Instead, you are tilted forward. This position makes you feel like you are flying through the air. It's a unique way to experience a roller coaster.

Record-Breaking Pretzel Loop

One of the most famous parts of Tatsu is its pretzel loop. This loop is 124 feet (38 meters) tall. It was the tallest and largest pretzel loop in the world when it opened. A pretzel loop is a special kind of inversion. It makes riders go through a large, twisted loop.

Zero-Gravity Roll

Tatsu also has a "Zero-gravity roll." This is a special twist in the track. It makes riders feel weightless for a moment. It's a unique feature for a flying roller coaster.

Tatsu in Media

Tatsu has been shown on different TV programs. These shows helped people learn about this amazing roller coaster.

  • The show Who Wants To Be A Superhero used Tatsu. It was featured in the third episode of its second season.
