Tatsunori Yamagata (山形 辰徳, Yamagata Tatsunori, born October 4, 1983) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender. His older brother, Kyohei Yamagata, was also a professional footballer.

A Football Journey
Tatsunori Yamagata was born in Kitakyushu, Japan, on October 4, 1983. He loved football from a young age. After finishing high school, he started his professional career in 2002.
Early Career and First Clubs
Yamagata joined Albirex Niigata, a team in Japan's J2 League, in 2002. He quickly showed his skills as a right-side defender. He played in several matches during his first season.
In 2004, he moved to Albirex Niigata Singapore. This team played in Singapore's top football league. It was a new experience for him to play in a different country.
Playing for Avispa Fukuoka
In 2005, Yamagata returned to Japan. He joined Avispa Fukuoka, another team in the J2 League. Interestingly, his older brother, Kyohei, also played for Avispa from 2004 to 2007.
Tatsunori worked hard to become a regular player. By 2007, he was a key right-side defender for Avispa. His team even got promoted to the J1 League, which is Japan's highest football division, at the end of the 2010 season. However, Avispa went back to J2 after just one year in the 2011 season.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2012, Yamagata moved to Tochigi SC, another J2 League team. He played many games for them each season. But in the 2015 season, Tochigi SC finished last and was moved down to the J3 League.
In 2017, he joined Kataller Toyama, a team in the J3 League. After playing for one season, Tatsunori Yamagata decided to retire from professional football at the end of 2017. He had a long and successful career, playing in many matches across different leagues.
