Historic Neighborhoods

The neighborhoods of San Miguel and San Roque are very special. They were declared a "Historic Artistic Ensemble" on June 17, 1991. This means they are protected because of their unique history and beautiful architecture.

The Parish Church

The main church of Tazones is in the San Miguel neighborhood and was built in 1950. The original church, which was in the San Roque neighborhood, was unfortunately destroyed in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.

The oldest item in the current church is an image of the Manolin Child. It's one of the only things, along with a crucifix, that survived from the first church. Other figures, like images of San Roque and the Virgin of Covadonga, were added when the church reopened in 1950.

The Shell House

In the San Roque neighborhood, you can find the amazing Casa de las Conchas, which means "Shell's House." The outside of this house is completely covered with seashells of all different shapes, sizes, and colors. It's a truly unique sight!

Tazones Lighthouse

The lighthouse in Tazones was built in 1864. It stands tall, guiding ships safely along the coast.

Dinosaur Footprint

Near the beach in Tazones, you can discover a real dinosaur footprint! It's a fascinating reminder of the ancient creatures that once roamed this area.
