Theodore Carrington Jessup, born on August 23, 1960, is an American writer, producer, and actor for television. He is known for his work on the popular animated show Family Guy. He has written several episodes for the series, including "12 and a Half Angry Men," "Mom's the Word," "The 2000-Year-Old Virgin," "Brokeback Swanson," and "High School English."
Early Life and School
Ted Jessup was born in Geneva, Switzerland. His father worked for the United States government there. Ted spent his childhood in Europe and went to schools with students from many different countries. Later, he graduated from Hamilton College in the United States.
Working Behind the Scenes
Ted Jessup has worked as a producer and writer for many well-known TV channels and shows. These include National Geographic Television, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. He also worked on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn on CBS. He has also contributed to projects for Seth MacFarlane, VH1, and MTV.
Jessup has written funny material for several award shows, like The Peoples Choice and Guys Choice. He helped create two popular shows for VH1: Rock Candy and Dave and Steve's Video Game Explosion. He was also a main producer and head writer for Nickelodeon's show Space Cases.
He was also a top producer for the Burly Bear Network, which was a project by Lorne Michaels aimed at young people. Jessup also produced a movie called Throwing Down. This film won the award for best American film at the Hamptons’ Film Festival in 1995. He also won an award for directing a show called The Other Europe for the Travel Channel.
