Early Life and Dancing
TeeFlii, whose real name is Christian Joel Jones, grew up around music. His grandfather was a pastor, and Jones became interested in music by watching the organ players at his grandfather's church. He learned to play many instruments, including the organ, piano, guitar, and drums. He even played drums for the famous singer Barbra Streisand at an event.
Music was an important part of his life, especially since he faced challenges at home. His mother struggled with personal problems, and he didn't meet his biological father until he was a teenager. Jones said he got into some trouble as a kid, but music and dancing helped him stay focused.
As a teenager, Jones became a talented dancer and was part of the krumping dance scene. He used the name Baby Tight Eyez and appeared in some of Chris Brown's early music videos. He was also featured in the 2005 documentary film Rize, which was about the krump dancing culture in Los Angeles.
After having his first daughter, he began writing songs for other artists. He realized that music could offer him a better future, so he decided to become an artist himself.
How He Got His Stage Name
His stage name, TeeFlii, comes from his time as a dancer. He was mentored by a well-known choreographer named Flii Stylz, who worked with stars like Chris Brown and Usher. To show respect for his mentor and to create his own identity, he took the name "TeeFlii."

Later that year, he signed a record deal with Epic Records. His first single, "This...", became popular on the radio in Los Angeles. The famous rapper Snoop Dogg also supported the song, which helped it gain more attention.
In October 2013, LA Weekly magazine named TeeFlii the best R&B singer in Los Angeles.
