Temelec is a small community in Sonoma County, California, USA. It's called a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the government for statistics, but it's not officially a city or town. In 2010, about 1,441 people lived there. The name Temelec comes from the Miwok word Tamuleko.

Temelec Hall: A Historic Building
Temelec is home to a special building called Temelec Hall. It was built way back in 1858 by Captain Granville P. Swift. He was part of the Bear Flag Party, a group important in California's history.
Later, in the mid-1900s, a journalist named Edmond Coblentz owned the hall. Today, Temelec Hall is part of the Temelec Adult Community Center. It's located at 220 Temelec Circle. This building is so important that it's been named a California Historical Landmark (#237) and a Sonoma County Historic Landmark.
