The Tennessee Soybean Festival is a super fun event held every year in Martin, Tennessee. It usually kicks off in the first week of September. This festival celebrates the amazing history of the soybean crop. Soybeans have been really important for the economy in West Tennessee, especially for the city of Martin and Weakley County.
Every year, the festival is packed with exciting local events, cool concerts, and even a beauty pageant called the Miss Soybean Festival Pageant. This pageant is a step towards the Miss Tennessee Pageant! You can also catch the first home football game for the University of Tennessee at Martin during the festival. Plus, there's a big street fair that everyone loves.
The festival usually starts with a special luncheon hosted by the Mayor. In 2020, the festival unfortunately couldn't happen because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But it has been back and running since then, bringing joy to Martin every year!
