The Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders are the official cheerleading team for the Tennessee Titans, a professional American football team in the NFL. They perform exciting dance routines during home games at Nissan Stadium. They also work with the Titans' mascot, T-Rac, and a junior cheerleading squad.
The team started in 1975 as the Derrick Dolls. When the Titans football team moved to Tennessee, the cheerleading squad changed its name to the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders. Currently, there are 25 cheerleaders on the squad.
What They Do
The cheerleaders do more than just perform at games. They also make special trips to entertain American troops overseas. These trips are called USO tours, and they have visited places like Kuwait and Diego Garcia.
The squad holds auditions at the Baptist Sports Park for new members. Besides their performances, the cheerleaders have also appeared on popular TV shows like "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Dr. Oz Show". They also make many appearances in the community.
Male Cheerleaders
The Titans cheerleading squad has included male cheerleaders at different times. They were part of the team from 1999 to 2003, and again starting in 2019. These male cheerleaders were first called "yell leaders." Their role is similar to college cheerleaders, often performing high-energy stunts.
