Teofil Codreanu (born February 1, 1941 – died January 10, 2016) was a famous Romanian footballer. He played as an attacking midfielder. This means he was a player who helped both defend and attack, often scoring goals or setting them up. Codreanu spent almost his entire career playing for Rapid București. He was known by his nickname Parpală.

Playing for Football Clubs
Teofil Codreanu was born in Bucharest, Romania. He started playing football in 1956 as a junior at CCA București. In 1959, he moved to play for Rapid București.
Starting His Professional Career
Codreanu made his first professional appearance in Romania's top league, Divizia A, on March 18, 1962. This was in a game where his team, Rapid București, tied 1–1 against Minerul Lupeni. His coach at the time was Ion Mihăilescu.
Success with Rapid București
Teofil Codreanu played for Rapid București for 12 seasons. He helped the club achieve a big milestone: winning their first-ever league title in the 1966–67 Divizia A season. During this winning season, coach Valentin Stănescu used him in 23 matches, and he scored two goals.
He also helped Rapid București win the 1971–72 Cupa României, which is Romania's main football cup competition. He played four games in that cup run, including the important final match.
Playing in European Competitions
Codreanu also played in 14 games in European club competitions, scoring 3 goals.
- In the 1967–68 European Cup, he helped Rapid București beat Trakia Plovdiv by scoring two goals. His team was later knocked out by Juventus.
- He played 5 games in the 1971–72 UEFA Cup. Rapid București did very well, beating strong teams like Napoli and Legia Warsaw. They reached the "eight-finals" (like a quarter-final stage) but were then eliminated by Tottenham, who went on to win the competition that year.
- In the 1972–73 European Cup Winners' Cup, he played two games. Rapid București reached the quarter-finals, beating teams like Landskrona BoIS and Rapid Wien. They were eventually knocked out by Leeds United, who made it to the final.
End of His Playing Career
Teofil Codreanu played his last game in Divizia A on June 20, 1973. It was an away game against SC Bacău, which Rapid București lost 2–1. In total, he played 258 games and scored 39 goals in the top league. He also played 33 matches and scored 7 goals in the Cupa României.
Teofil Codreanu passed away on January 10, 2016, in his hometown of Bucharest. He was 74 years old.
