Teruyuki Moniwa (茂庭 照幸, Moniwa Teruyuki, born 8 September 1981) is a Japanese former professional footballer. He played as a centre back, which means he was a player who helped protect his team's goal.

Moniwa's Club Journey
Teruyuki Moniwa was born in Atsugi, Japan, on September 8, 1981. He started his professional football journey with Bellmare Hiratsuka in 1999. This team later became known as Shonan Bellmare.
Starting Out in Japan
Moniwa quickly became an important player for Bellmare Hiratsuka. He played many games as a centre back right from his first season. However, the team finished last that year and moved down to a lower league called J2 League. He became a regular player for them in 2001.
Playing for FC Tokyo
In 2002, Moniwa moved to FC Tokyo, a team in the top league, J1 League. He played many matches as a centre back there for several years. In 2004, his team won the 2004 J.League Cup. This was the first big trophy in FC Tokyo's history! Later, Moniwa had some injuries, which meant he played fewer games.
Moving to Cerezo Osaka and Thailand
In 2010, Moniwa joined Cerezo Osaka. He continued to be a key defender for this team until 2012. After that, he moved to Thailand in 2014 to play for a club called Bangkok Glass.
Returning to Japan
Moniwa came back to Japan in 2015 and rejoined Cerezo Osaka. At this time, Cerezo Osaka was in the J2 League. The team worked hard and was promoted back to the J1 League at the end of the 2016 season. In 2017, Cerezo Osaka had a fantastic year! They finished third in the J1 League and won two major cups: the J.League Cup and the Emperor's Cup. Even though the team did very well, Moniwa didn't play much in these later years.
After his time at Cerezo Osaka, Moniwa joined FC Maruyasu Okazaki in 2019. He later played for FC Kariya in 2023.

Playing for Japan's National Team
He played his first game for the Japan national team on October 8, 2003, in a friendly match against Tunisia. He scored his first goal for Japan on August 3, 2005, in a game against China.
Olympics and World Cup
Moniwa was part of the Japanese U-23 team that played in the 2004 Olympics. He played every minute of all three matches there.
He was also called up to join Japan's team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This was a big moment for him! He came into Japan's first match against Australia as a substitute. Overall, he played 9 games and scored 1 goal for Japan until 2006.
