A Hotel's Many Lives
From 1995 to 2011, the Thayer Hotel was a cozy bed and breakfast. A bed and breakfast is a smaller place where you can stay overnight and get breakfast in the morning. The owner, Sharon Gammell, retired in 2011. After that, the building was empty for a few years until 2016.
On March 24, 2018, the building opened its doors again. This time, it started as a restaurant. You can learn more about it on their website here. By the end of 2018, the Thayer Hotel was back to being a full-service hotel. It also kept the restaurant on its first floor. Today, it continues to welcome guests and serve delicious food.
