The Adventures of the Little Prince is an anime (Japanese animation) TV series. It is based on the famous book called The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The show was made by Knack Productions studio.
In Japan, the series was called The Prince of the Stars: Le Petit Prince (星の王子さま プチ・プランス, Hoshi no Ōjisama Puchi Puransu). It first aired on the TV Asahi network from July 1978 to March 1979. Later, it was translated into English. The English version first showed in Los Angeles and New York on ABC in 1982. It then came to the rest of the United States in 1985 on Nickelodeon. The show was also seen in Canada on TVOntario starting in 1985.
The original Japanese series had 39 episodes. However, only 26 episodes were shown in English. In 2017, Discotek Media got the rights to the anime in North America. They uploaded the Japanese version with English subtitles to Crunchyroll. This means all 39 episodes can now be watched with subtitles.
Story of the Little Prince
The story of the series follows the Little Prince on his adventures. He travels from his tiny home planet, called B-612. His journey takes him to Earth.
In the original Japanese version, the Little Prince lands in Europe. He then travels across the continent. Along the way, he meets different people and helps them.
The English version changed the story a bit. In this version, the Little Prince travels to Earth and other planets that look like Earth. He helps people in these places. At the end of each episode, he returns to his home planet. Some episode stories were also changed for the English version.
