The Da Vinci Code facts for kids
The Da Vinci Code is a very popular book written by Dan Brown in 2003. It's a mystery story that takes readers on an exciting adventure.
The book talks about a religious group called Opus Dei. It also features a famous artist from history, Leonardo da Vinci, and some of his most well-known paintings, like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
The author, Dan Brown, got some ideas for The Da Vinci Code from another book called Holy Blood, Holy Grail. This older book was based on some papers found in a library in France. However, it turned out these papers were not real; they were fake. The person who wrote them wanted to make it seem like they were a true king of France and the leader of an old, secret group.
In 2006, a movie based on the book was made by Columbia Pictures. The film, called The Da Vinci Code, was directed by Ron Howard. The main character, Robert Langdon, is played by the actor Tom Hanks.
