The Emerald Wand of Oz is a fantasy book from 2005. It was written by Sherwood Smith. This book continues the famous Oz series, which began way back in 1900 with L. Frank Baum. Many writers have added to the Oz stories since then. William Stout created the pictures for this book, and it was published by Harper Collins.
About the Story
This exciting book is about two young relatives of Dorothy Gale, named Em and Dory. They somehow find themselves in the magical land of Oz. But their arrival isn't peaceful! A brand-new Wicked Witch of the West, named Bastinda, is causing trouble. She is threatening the people of Oz, and Em and Dory must face this new danger.
Part of the Oz Series
The Emerald Wand of Oz is a special book in the Oz collection. It is considered the 46th book in the entire series. It was also the first of four new Oz novels asked for by the Baum Family Trust. This means the family of the original author, L. Frank Baum, wanted more stories to be told. Other books by Sherwood Smith that follow this one include Trouble Under Oz and Sky Pyrates Over Oz.
