The Fleece Inn is a very old pub, also known as a public house, located in the village of Bretforton. This village is in Worcestershire, a county in England. The pub is found in a beautiful area called the Vale of Evesham.
The building itself is quite special. It is a "half-timbered" building, which means its walls are made with a frame of strong wooden beams and the spaces in between are filled with other materials. This pub is incredibly old, over six hundred years! It has been serving as a pub since 1848. Today, it is looked after by the National Trust, an organization that protects historic places.
About The Fleece Inn
The Fleece Inn is famous for its cozy and welcoming feel. When you step inside, you'll see many old and interesting items. These include shiny pewter mugs, brass and copper tools, and beautiful pottery. There are also old oak benches and a spinning wheel, which all help to create a warm, old-fashioned atmosphere.
A Fire and Rebuilding
On February 27, 2004, The Fleece Inn was sadly damaged by a fire. But don't worry, people worked hard to fix it! Repairs and rebuilding started on November 1, 2004. The pub officially opened its doors again on June 18, 2005. It had a brand new roof and other important updates to make it safe and welcoming once more.
