Meet the Characters
- Jay Keaton (played by Alex Roe)
- Jay is a smart 12-year-old with a very high IQ. He's great with numbers and science. At school, he's seen as a nerd and doesn't have many friends until he meets Mel.
- His world changes when his Uncle Harry tells him a shocking family secret. This secret involves EmbroGen's forbidden human experiments, and Jay is somehow part of it.
- This discovery puts Jay and his younger sister, Fleecey, in danger from Salko, the head of EmbroGen. Jay has to go on the run, learning to be strong and brave to protect his sister and keep the secret safe.
- Fleecey Keaton
- Fleecey is Jay's bubbly and energetic nine-year-old sister. She's also very smart, but she doesn't share Jay's love for schoolwork.
- She misses Jay a lot when he runs away and decides to go find him. This puts both of them in more danger from EmbroGen's agents, Boyer and Lomas.
- Mel Banks
- Mel is a tough, outspoken, and impulsive girl. She loves her mobile phone and often argues with her mum, Glenda, about her messy room.
- She first helps Jay when she saves him from bullies. After getting into trouble for letting Jay hide at her house, she decides to run away and join him.
- Mel soon discovers the disturbing truth about EmbroGen and realizes her life may never be the same.
- J2
- J2 is one of the first clones of Jay Keaton. He looks exactly like Jay, but his right eye is bright blue instead of green.
- EmbroGen uses J2 to pretend to be Jay, hoping to end the search for the real Jay. J2 is used to living in the lab and having many tests.
- He finds joy in living with a family after spending time with Mel's sister, Kelly. When Fleecey gets hurt, J2 offers to donate one of his kidneys to save her. He becomes part of the Keaton family.
- Marshall Keaton
- Marshall is Jay and Fleecey's father and Lorraine's husband. He is a brilliant scientist who worked on EmbroGen's "Eden project."
- Jay doesn't trust him at first because of his past work with EmbroGen. The family wonders if Marshall is still involved in Salko's plans.
- Salko
- Salko is the mysterious and dangerous head of EmbroGen. The company's public image is very different from its secret activities.
- He is an ambitious man obsessed with his plan to create "perfect children." Jay and the secret he holds are the only things standing in Salko's way.

- Her life is turned upside down when Jay goes missing.
- Glenda Banks

- Maggie quickly becomes friends with Jay and helps him stay ahead of Salko's agents, Boyer and Lomas. She seems to know more than she lets on about the situation.
- Boyer
- Boyer is one of Salko's agents at EmbroGen, working with Lomas. He was lured from the Army by Salko's money.
- He is cold, unemotional, and dangerous, determined to follow Salko's orders no matter who gets hurt.

- Lomas is another of Salko's agents, working with Boyer. She is cold-hearted, determined, and ruthless.
- She follows Salko's orders without question, letting nothing stop her from capturing Jay and the secret he holds.
- Harry Keaton
- Uncle Harry is Marshall's brother. He and Marshall had a falling out years ago, so Jay had never met him until he got a mysterious email about EmbroGen.
- When Jay runs away, Uncle Harry seems like the only person he can trust. But Uncle Harry might have secrets of his own.
- Kelly Banks
- Kelly is Mel's younger sister. She has a typical sibling relationship with Mel.
- When Mel goes missing, Kelly feels responsible. She is the first to befriend J2 and trusts him with her worries about Mel.
The Story Unfolds
The series begins with 12-year-old Jay Keaton discovering a dangerous secret about his father's old workplace, EmbroGen. He learns that the company is involved in secret human experiments, and he is somehow connected to them. Fearing for his safety, Jay copies important files from his father's computer and runs away.
Jay meets Mel Banks, a tough and impulsive girl who helps him escape from bullies. After Jay tells her he has nowhere to go, Mel offers him a hiding spot. When Mel's mum finds Jay, Mel decides to join Jay on his adventure. They realize they are being followed by EmbroGen's agents, Boyer and Lomas. Jay believes his Uncle Harry is the only one who can help them.
Mel is caught by Lomas and taken to EmbroGen's secret lab. There, she is shocked to see many clones of Jay. Jay, with Maggie Wych's help, manages to sneak into the lab and rescue Mel. They escape and finally reach Uncle Harry's house. However, Mel recognizes Uncle Harry from EmbroGen, making her suspicious. Jay gives Uncle Harry a memory stick, but it's a fake. The real one is safe with Maggie.
Meanwhile, Jay's younger sister, Fleecey, hides in Lomas's car and ends up at Maggie's cottage, reuniting with Jay and Mel. Salko, the head of EmbroGen, is furious about Jay's escape. Jay's father, Marshall, is forced to work for EmbroGen, where he discovers flaws in their cloning project.
Fleecey gets restless at Maggie's cottage and sneaks out. Boyer tracks her down and attaches a device to her coat, leading EmbroGen agents back to the cottage. During the chase, Fleecey is hit by a car. Lomas offers Jay a deal: the memory stick for an ambulance. Jay agrees, and he and Mel are trapped in a well.
Jay and Mel manage to escape the well. Fleecey is in the hospital, needing a kidney transplant. J2, the clone of Jay, offers one of his kidneys to save Fleecey. Marshall tries to sabotage EmbroGen's system, but Lomas stops him. Jay and Mel use a map from Maggie's wallet to get back into EmbroGen's building.
Jay and Mel race against time to free the clones before Salko's big presentation. Jay confronts his father, Marshall, who is secretly trying to help. Marshall sends a video to the press, exposing EmbroGen. During Salko's presentation, Mel and the clones appear, revealing the truth to the world.
Maggie Wych arrives and reveals she was Salko's professor and vowed to stop him. Salko is taken away by police, but it's revealed that Boyer and Lomas are the officers, hinting that Salko might not be truly caught.
Three months later, Fleecey and J2 are recovering well. J2 is now part of the Keaton family. Maggie takes nine of the clones to live with her. The series ends with Mel thinking about new adventures, suggesting more to come for the fugitives.
