What the Show is About

The story is about a girl named Molly McGee. She is a very hopeful and happy "tween" (a kid between childhood and teenage years). Molly loves to make the world a better place for everyone.

Then there's Scratch, a grumpy ghost with a deep voice. He loves to make people unhappy and spread misery. But one day, a spell he casts goes wrong! Because of this, Scratch is now stuck with Molly forever. He has to be wherever she is, which is not what he wanted at all!

Main Characters

  • Molly McGee (voiced by Ashly Burch): Molly is a super positive and happy girl. She always tries to make the world a better place for everyone around her.
  • Scratch (voiced by Dana Snyder): Scratch is a grumpy ghost. He loves to cause trouble and make people miserable. But now, he's stuck with Molly because of a magic spell!

How the Show Was Made

On July 23, 2019, Disney Channel decided to make an animated series. It was first called The Curse of Molly McGee. This show is made by Disney Television Animation.

The main people in charge of making the show are Bill Motz, Bob Roth, and Steve Loter. On September 24, 2020, Ashly Burch and Dana Snyder joined the show to voice the main characters. On the same day, the show's name was changed to The Ghost and Molly McGee.

The people who made the show got ideas from many different songs. Bill Motz even shared a list of these songs in 2020 and 2021.

Music in the Show

The show's main theme song was written by Allie Felder, Mike Kramer, Bill Motz, and Bob Roth. It is sung by Ashly Burch and Dana Snyder, who voice Molly and Scratch.

Rob Cantor writes the songs for the show. Each episode will have a musical part that lasts about one minute. The background music, called the "score," is created by Michael Tavera. He also made music for other cartoons like ¡Mucha Lucha!, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, and Yin Yang Yo!.
