The Jazz Singer is a 1927 movie was released to movie theaters by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The movie stars Al Jolson and May MacAvoy. It also co-starred Warner Oland. It's considered to be the first talking picture, but was actually not; Dream Street (1921) was the first with a talking introduction by D.W. Griffith.
