The Mysterious Story Begins
The adventure starts with a 16-year-old boy named Terry Connor. He is deep inside a cavern, about 100 feet underground. Terry is on a potholing trip, which is like exploring caves.
His instructor, Alex, has gone missing in a deep cave called 'Wilmer Deep'. Alex went to get a flashlight that Terry had dropped. When Alex finally comes back, he thinks he's only been gone for ten minutes. But Terry knows it's been more than two hours!
Alex tells Terry that he might be imagining things. He says being in a dark cave can make you see or hear things that aren't there. When they get out of the cave, Terry thinks he sees a man watching them. Alex again says it's just Terry's imagination. He suggests Terry isn't good at potholing.
Strange Happenings at the Center
Back at the outdoor center, Terry's friends, especially a boy named Jacko, tease him. Terry still feels like someone is watching them or the center. His friends tell him there's a secret Ministry of Defence research place nearby. This makes Terry feel even more worried.
Another instructor, Gordon, notices Terry's concerns. Gordon tells Terry that he believes Alex was gone for two hours. He hints that he knows more but can't say much.
The next day, Terry is supposed to go on a solo trek above ground. But Terry wants to prove he's not scared of the cave. So, he decides to go back to Wilmer Deep.
A Secret Meeting
To get into the cave, Terry needs a key. The key is kept at Granny Powell's farmhouse. When Terry arrives, Alex unexpectedly shows up. Alex is with Kurtz, the man Terry saw watching them the day before. Strangely, Alex seems confused and doesn't remember telling Terry to go on the trek.
Terry secretly follows Alex and Kurtz. He watches them kidnap someone! Terry quickly goes back to the center to tell Gordon. Gordon then reveals that he works for the security part of the Ministry of Defence.
Gordon explains he is investigating Alex. He believes Alex plans to harm a scientist at the nearby research unit. Alex is using the Wilmer Deep cave as a way to get into the secret research place.
The Jensen Code Mystery
Gordon tells Terry that the kidnapped person is Dr. Jensen. Dr. Jensen is the only person who knows important secret codes. These codes are for a military space satellite that will be launched soon. This secret code is called the Jensen Code.
Gordon takes Terry to a house, saying it's a safe place. But the safe house turns out to be Granny Powell's farmhouse! Terry starts to feel uneasy about Gordon's story. When Gordon isn't looking, Terry manages to escape.
On the Run
Terry runs and finds an old farm ruin. Inside, he finds Dr. Jensen and a very confused Alex. Alex doesn't seem to remember Terry at all. Soon, Kurtz and a scary man named Mr. Richards find them. They take Alex away and lock Terry and Jensen in the barn.
Alone, Dr. Jensen explains that Alex seems to have been hypnotized. Jensen also confirms that he was kidnapped for the secret code he knows. He tells Terry that Richards has tried to hypnotize him too. But so far, Jensen has been strong enough to resist Richards' powerful mind control tricks.
A Confused Escape
The next morning, Terry is taken to the farmhouse. There, Richards uses powerful hypnosis on him. But then, Richards is called away to find Dr. Jensen, who has escaped. Terry uses this chance to run away to a police station.
However, Terry remembers nothing. He can't even recall his own name! But something keeps bothering him. He feels like there's something very important he needs to remember, but he just can't.
After a few days resting at home, Terry still wants answers. He decides to go back to the outdoor center. A gentleman who seems vaguely familiar offers him a ride. It's Dr. Jensen! From this point, the story gets even more complicated and exciting. Terry's life is often in great danger as he tries to uncover the truth.

How the Show Was Made
The Jensen Code was written by Carey Harrison. It was directed by Alan Coleman and Jonathan Wright-Miller. Alan Coleman also produced the show.
The scenes inside the caves were filmed at a real place called Clearwell Caves. The show was originally made in color. However, most of the original recordings have been lost over time. Only one episode, episode six, still exists in color. Even that episode has some sound problems and cuts off before the end.
