What the Story is About
Petrie's Flying Challenge
Petrie, a friendly Pteranodon, is getting ready for a big event. It's called "The Day of the Flyers." This is a very important day for all young flying dinosaurs in the Great Valley. They have to fly together in special formations. This shows they are ready to fly with the grown-ups.
Petrie is always a bit nervous when he flies. He finds it even harder to fly in perfect lines with his brothers and sisters. He likes to fly in his own way, freely.
A New Friend Named Guido
At the same time, a strange new creature arrives in the Great Valley. Littlefoot and his friends try to figure out what he is. His name is Guido, and he is a Microraptor. He looks very different from everyone else. He is covered with feathers, and he has never seen another creature like himself.
Cera's New Sister
Cera, a Triceratops, is also having her own challenges. Her grumpy dad and his new partner, Tria, are expecting a baby. The baby dinosaur is a girl named Tricia. Cera slowly starts to feel a connection with her new little sister.
An Adventure in the Mysterious Beyond
All these stories come together the night before "The Day of the Flyers." Guido starts to understand what he is. He begins to sleepwalk, and Petrie and his friends follow him. This accidentally leads the whole group on a dangerous trip. They go into the scary Mysterious Beyond.
During this adventure, they discover that Guido can glide! Guido wakes up from his sleepwalking in the Mysterious Beyond. He accidentally wakes up a big Spinosaurus. The Spinosaurus chases them and tries to eat them. But Petrie, Guido, and the others work together. They manage to get away from the Spinosaurus and return safely to the Great Valley.
The Great Day of the Flyers
When "The Day of the Flyers" finally arrives, Petrie and his siblings begin their performance. Petrie remembers Guido's advice: "Be yourself." Petrie's unique way of flying turns out to be exactly what they needed. It helps them finish the day successfully. This changes "The Great Day of the Flyers" forever.
While watching, Tricia falls into a river! The current carries her straight towards a waterfall. Guido, Petrie, and Petrie's siblings quickly fly to rescue Tricia. They save her just in time, but they accidentally drop her. Luckily, Cera catches her before she falls back into the river. Tricia even says her first word, which is "Cera." The movie ends with Cera and her family showing love to Tricia. The other dinosaurs watch, amazed by everything that happened.
