Book 1: The Lighthouse Land
The Lighthouse Land was published in 2006 and is the first book in the series. It introduces us to 13-year-old Jamie. He and his mom move from Harlem to Ireland after his mom inherits Muck Island. When they settle into the island's lighthouse, Jamie quickly finds out he has some amazing, out-of-this-world duties. With his friend Ramsay, Jamie travels to the planet Altair. There, they must help fight off an invasion to save the planet!
Book 2: The Lighthouse War
The Lighthouse War, released in 2007, is the second book. Jamie O'Neill and his friend Ramsay have been back in Ireland for a year. They are still thinking about their adventures on Altair. Jamie especially misses the girl he met there. One day, a mysterious signal from Altair reaches Earth. Ramsay manages to figure out the message. It's a call for help, sent from 100 years in the past!
To get back to Altair, they need to use something called the Salmon of Knowledge. But first, the salmon needs to be "recharged." While doing this, they have to explain everything to Jamie's mom and Ramsay's brother. Suddenly, all four of them are transported to Altair! However, they land right inside their enemies' main base. Jamie and Ramsay manage to escape, but their companions are captured. The story then follows Jamie and Ramsay as they try to rescue their friends. They also have to get used to how much Altair has changed since their last visit.
Book 3: The Lighthouse Keepers
The Lighthouse Keepers came out in 2008 and is the final book in the trilogy. The story takes place in Islandmagee, Ireland, and on the planet Altair. Jamie O'Neill, Wishaway, Ramsay MacDonald, and Thaddeus Harper are being chased by a secret agent from the CIA. To escape, they travel to Altair for one last big fight against their enemies, the Alkhavans. When they finally return to Earth, Jamie faces a very important decision. This choice will decide the future of Earth itself!
