The Perishers is a fun cartoon show that first aired in 1979. It was made by Bill Melendez Productions and FilmFair. The show was broadcast on BBC1 in the UK and was repeated until 1988. It's based on a very popular comic strip called The Perishers, created by Maurice Dodd.
Meet the Voices Behind the Characters
Many talented actors brought the characters of The Perishers to life. Sheila Steafel voiced two characters: Maisie and Baby Grumpling. Leonard Rossiter was the voice of Boot. Judy Bennett played Wellington. Finally, Peter Hawkins was not only the narrator, but also voiced Marlon and BH.
Watching The Perishers at Home
You could also watch The Perishers at home! The first home video versions were released by Castle Vision. They put out two VHS videocassettes, each with 10 episodes.
Later, Abbey Home Media released the show on DVD. The first 10 episodes came out on a Region 2 DVD called The Perishers: Magic Mirror in 2006. The last 10 episodes were released on a second DVD, The Perishers: The Skateboard Champion, in 2007.
