What is The Troop About?
The show follows Jake, a regular teenager who loves drawing comic books. His school counselor, Mr. Stockley, asks him to join "The Troop." This is a secret group that keeps the world safe from monsters. Other members of the team are his classmates: Hayley, who is the most popular girl, and Felix, the school's main nerd.
Teenagers are chosen for The Troop because their minds are more open to strange things. They are also old enough to understand the big responsibilities of the job. As people get older, monsters can become very scary to them. For some, it's a small fear. For others, it's terrifying to even see a picture of a monster. The show has been called "Men in Black at a suburban high school."
The second season changed things up a bit. Felix slowly left the show in the first three episodes. Then, Matt Shively joined as Kirby in the third episode. Malese Jow also joined the cast as Cadence. The new season also had a different theme song and new places where the show took place.

Meet The Troop Characters
Main Characters
- Jake Collins (Nicholas Purcell) - Jake is new to The Troop. He is often a bit silly and acts without thinking. Hayley and Felix often have to help him out. Hayley sometimes thinks he doesn't take his job seriously. Jake's biggest fear is not being able to help his friends. He is a good artist and loves comic books. He even draws and sells his own comics at school. Jake seems to like Hayley, but it's not clear if she feels the same way in season 1. In season 2, he tells Hayley he has a crush on her.
- Hayley Steele (Gage Golightly) - Hayley is the most popular and friendly girl at school. She is very busy with cheerleading, lacrosse, ballet, and student council. She wants to go to Yale University after high school. She is very strong-willed and determined. Her worst fear is having a lot of late homework. Jake thinks she is very bossy. She and Jake are good friends, and there are hints that they might like each other more. In season 2, she shows she has a crush on Jake by watching him and Cadence on a date.
- Felix Garcia (David Del Rio) - Felix is the school's smart nerd. He really wants to tell people about The Troop, but he promised to keep it a secret. He sees himself as a cool, secret agent type. In reality, Jake and Hayley think he's just a typical nerd. Felix is super smart. He knows everything about mysterious creatures. He is ready to face any monster, but he is scared of ghosts and clowns. Felix doesn't fit in at school, so The Troop members are his closest friends. He leaves the Lakewood Troop early in season 2 to join Troop International.
- Mr. Stockley (John Marshall Jones) - Mr. Stockley is the adult leader of The Troop. He takes his job very seriously. He tells Jake, Hayley, and Felix about new monster sightings. He also makes sure they have the best monster-fighting tools. However, he gets scared when he faces a monster himself. This is because as people get older, they become less able to fight monsters. Mr. Stockley is named after one of the creator's favorite teachers. In season 2, he is happy when Jake tells Hayley he likes her.
- Kirby Bancroft-Cadworth III (Matt Shively) - Kirby joins the team in the second season. He takes Felix's place when Felix leaves. Kirby moved to the Lakewood Troop from Oklahoma. He comes from a very rich family. He is a science genius, but his inventions sometimes cause problems. Even so, he is a loyal and honest kid who will do anything for his friends.
- Cadence Nash (Malese Jow) - Cadence joins the team later in the second season. She is a bit of a rebel and often gets into trouble. She loves skateboarding and likes Jake. She is half human and half monster. The Troop knows she is half monster, but Hayley kept it a secret from Jake to protect her. Jake sends her to the monster world in episode 31. She is set free in episode 32 after helping Jake in the monster world. She eats a lot of regular food to control her monster cravings.

He failed when his "monster magnet" opened a portal to the monster world, and he went through it.
- Phoebe Collins (Matreya Fedor) – Phoebe is Jake's younger sister. She has shown signs that she might join The Troop one day. She met a dragon and was not scared. She also wasn't afraid in the Halloween special. She sometimes acts like she doesn't care about Jake, but she really does.

This way, he could still share his knowledge even if he couldn't fight monsters.

- Bianca Stonehouse (Kyra Zagorski) – Bianca is a famous Troop leader. She appears in "The Substitute." She was found to be a Locht monster in disguise.
