Elizabeth Melise Jow, who is known by her professional name Malese Jow, is an American actress and singer. She was born on February 18, 1991. Many people know her from popular TV shows.

She played Geena Fabiano on the Nickelodeon show Unfabulous and Lucy Stone on Big Time Rush. She also played Anna, a teenage vampire, in the fantasy show The Vampire Diaries. More recently, she voiced the superhero Dupli-Kate in the animated series Invincible.

Early Life and Family

Malese Jow was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When she was nine, she moved to California with her mom, sister, and two brothers. Jow is of Chinese-American and Cherokee heritage. When she was a kid, she often sang the national anthem at local baseball games.

Acting Career

Starting on Nickelodeon

Malese's acting career began when she was just six years old with small parts on shows like Barney & Friends. Her big break came when she was cast in the Nickelodeon show Unfabulous. She starred alongside Emma Roberts as Geena Fabiano, the best friend of Roberts's character, Addie Singer. The show was on for three seasons, from 2004 to 2007. Her role earned her several nominations for the Young Artist Award.

After Unfabulous ended, Malese acted in the movie Bratz: The Movie as Quinn. She also appeared in many other popular shows. These included Wizards of Waverly Place, iCarly, and Hannah Montana.

Famous Roles as a Teenager

In 2010, Malese joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries as Anna, a vampire who becomes an important character in the first season. She returned for a few episodes in the third season.

She also had a recurring role on another Nickelodeon hit, Big Time Rush. From 2011 to 2013, she played Lucy Stone, a cool rock musician who was a love interest for two of the band members, Kendall and James. She also guest-starred on the popular mystery show Desperate Housewives.

Exploring New Characters

In 2014, Malese starred in a science fiction show called Star-Crossed. She played Julia Yeung, a girl with a serious illness whose life changes because of aliens. The show only lasted for one season.

That same year, she joined the superhero show The Flash in the recurring role of Linda Park. In the second season, she also got to play a villain from another universe, Dr. Light.

From 2017, she played Mareth Ravenlock in the second season of the fantasy series The Shannara Chronicles. She has also appeared in the action show NCIS: Los Angeles as Jennifer Kim.

Today, many fans know her voice from the animated superhero show Invincible. She voices the character Kate Cha, also known as Dupli-Kate, who can make copies of herself.
