What the Movie is About
This movie is based on a famous children's book called The Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White. It tells the story of a young trumpeter swan named Louie. Louie is special because he was born unable to make any sounds, which is called muteness.
Louie really wants to get the attention of a beautiful female swan, called a "pen." To overcome his challenge and win her over, he learns to play the trumpet. This helps him find his own unique voice.

Awards and Recognition
In 2001, The Trumpet of the Swan was recognized for its voice acting. The Casting Society of America nominated it for "best voice-casting in an animated film." This means the people who chose the voices for the characters did a great job.
Even though it didn't win the award (it went to Disney's The Emperor's New Groove), it was still a big deal. It's not common for an independent animated movie, one made without a huge studio behind it, to get such a nomination.
This movie was also the last film based on a book by E. B. White until the movie Charlotte's Web came out in 2006.
