Gary Anthony Williams (born March 14, 1966) is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. You might know him as the voice of Uncle Ruckus on The Boondocks or as the character Anton "Bebop" Zeck in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Williams is also famous for his work in improvisational comedy, especially as a cast member on the show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. He has appeared in many TV shows, including Boston Legal and Malcolm in the Middle. He also co-founded the L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival.

From Georgia to Hollywood

Gary Anthony Williams was born in Fayetteville, Georgia, on March 14, 1966. He got his start in acting in Atlanta, where he was involved in theater and comedy. He performed with the Georgia Shakespeare Festival and was a member of an improv group called Laughing Matters.

He also had roles in TV shows that were filmed in the Atlanta area, like I'll Fly Away and In the Heat of the Night. In 1998, Williams decided to move to Los Angeles to continue his acting career.

Career on Screen

Famous Television Roles

One of Williams' early TV roles was playing Abe Kenarban, the father of Stevie, in the popular show Malcolm in the Middle. He was also the bailiff on the Nickelodeon series The Amanda Show. For a while, he was a main cast member on the sketch comedy show Blue Collar TV.

Later, he joined the cast of Boston Legal as Clarence Bell, a very shy lawyer who would often dress up as different characters to express himself. This role was so popular that he became a regular on the show.

Since 2013, Williams has been a regular guest on the improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, where he makes up scenes and songs on the spot.

A Career in Voice Acting

Williams is a very successful voice actor and has brought many animated characters to life. He is well-known as the voice of Uncle Ruckus in the animated series The Boondocks.

He has worked on many shows for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, including Stroker and Hoop and Saul of the Molemen. He was also the announcer for The Eric Andre Show for a time.

For younger audiences, he voiced Mr. McStuffins in the Disney Junior show Doc McStuffins. He also voiced characters in Sheriff Callie's Wild West, Special Agent Oso, and Mufasa in The Lion Guard. Fans of Star Wars might recognize his voice from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

Movie and Video Game Work

Williams has appeared in several movies. He played Smart Brother in Undercover Brother and had roles in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Soul Plane. In 2016, he played the mutant warthog Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

He has also lent his voice to video games. He voiced General Horace Warfield in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and Dr. Richard Tygan in XCOM 2.

Personal Life

Williams has one son named Ethan. He is also a regular performer in improv comedy shows at The Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles and sometimes returns to Atlanta to perform with his old group, Laughing Matters.
