What the Show is About
Each episode of Special Agent Oso starts with Oso doing a training exercise. He usually doesn't get it right on his first try. When this happens, he says, "It's all part of the plan more or less." Then, his computer helper, Paw Pilot, gives him a "Special Alert!"
Meanwhile, a special camera drone called Shutterbug notices a child who needs help. This child is usually having trouble with a simple task. Oso is then assigned to help them. Paw Pilot and a mysterious boss named Mr. Dos explain the child's problem. They give Oso a mission to help the child finish the task.
To help Oso, Paw Pilot gives him "three special steps." These are simple instructions to complete the task. Oso travels to where the child is. The three steps are often a bit vague, so Paw Pilot also gives Oso helpful tips. For the last step, Paw Pilot counts down the time. Oso and the child usually finish just as time runs out. Then, Paw Pilot says, "Assignment Complete!"
After helping the child, Oso realizes the helpful tip he got was exactly what he needed for his own training exercise. He goes back, finishes his training, and earns a medal for both missions!
Episodes and Their Parts
The show has 60 episodes in total. There are 24 episodes in the first season and 36 in the second. Many episode titles are fun references to famous James Bond movies. For example, some titles sound like The World Is Not Enough or The Man with the Golden Gun.
Key Parts of Each Episode
Each episode of Special Agent Oso has four main parts:
- The Three Special Steps: These are the instructions Paw Pilot gives Oso for his missions. Oso has a limited time to complete these steps. The third step often has a countdown timer, usually between 3 and 19 seconds.
- Training Exercises: These are tasks given to Oso by his fellow agents, Wolfie, Dotty, or Buffo. Oso often fails his first attempt. But while helping a child, he learns what he did wrong. He then goes back to his training and completes it successfully. This earns him a "Digi-Medal."
- Special Assignments: These are the missions Oso gets from Mr. Dos to help a child. Sometimes, Oso even asks the audience for help if a task gets tricky. When he completes the "Three Special Steps," he earns another "Digi-Medal."
- Audience Participation: Oso often talks directly to the viewers. He might ask for help finding something hidden on the screen. Other times, he encourages kids to try a physical activity he is doing.
Three Healthy Steps Shorts
There's also a short series called Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps. These short videos air during the Disney Junior block in the United States. They encourage kids to be healthy. They teach "three healthy steps" for eating well, staying active, and being healthy. These shorts mix animated characters like Oso and Paw Pilot with real-life actors.
Characters You'll Meet

Special Agent Oso | Sean Astin | He's a colorful stuffed bear and the main character. Oso helps children with everyday tasks like blowing bubbles or cleaning their rooms. His name "Oso" means "bear" in Spanish. He works for UNIQUE, which stands for "The United Network for the Investigation of Quite Unusual Events." |
Paw Pilot | Meghan Strange | She is Oso's computer assistant. Paw Pilot guides Oso through the "three special steps" for each mission. When she sings the mission's codename, the background looks like the cool opening scenes of James Bond movies. |

Special Agent Wolfie | Phill Lewis | A blue stuffed wolf. He is one of the special agent animals who helps train Oso. |
Special Agent Dotty | Amber Hood | A spotted orange stuffed cat with a Southern accent. She also helps train Oso. It seems like she might have a crush on Oso! |

Special Agent Musa | N/A | A quiet, dark brown squirrel ninja. She is a master of stealth and speed. She was introduced in Season 2. |
