The building was designed by Burka Varacalli Architects Incorporated. It was built where an old movie theater, the Uptown Theatre, used to be.

Design and Look of The Uptown Residences

The building's design has parts that remind people of Art Deco buildings from the 1930s. These older buildings often had steps or "setbacks" as they went higher up. The Uptown Residences has a simple look with concrete walls and rectangular windows.

Special Features of the Building's Base

The bottom part of the building, called the podium, is different. It uses black and grey granite stone. This part also takes ideas from Art Deco style. However, it doesn't have fancy pictures or decorations. The very top of the building is a simple box shape, without a tall spire.
