The Willows at Christmas is an exciting children's novel written by the English author William Horwood. It was first published in 1999. This book is the fourth story in the Tales of the Willows series. These books are sequels to the famous 1908 novel The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

The Willows at Christmas takes place after the adventures in The Wind in the Willows. It happens before the events of The Willows in Winter. The book features beautiful full-page color illustrations by Patrick Benson.

A Christmas Adventure for Mole

This story begins as the twelve days of Christmas are getting close. Mole is super excited to enjoy every single day with his friends from the River Bank. But he gets a big shock when he finds out that no one else is looking forward to the holidays!

Mr. Toad's Troubles

Even the usually happy Mr Toad is feeling down. This is because of a very rude house guest named Mrs Ffleshe. She is making everyone miserable. Mole knows he has to do something to help Mr. Toad and bring back the Christmas spirit.

A Plan Gone Wrong

Mole comes up with a plan to rescue Toad. He gets help from his friends: Ratty, Badger, and Otter. However, their plan goes terribly wrong!

Saving Christmas Spirit

Now, Mole and his friends are in serious trouble. They are facing a difficult court case for some big mistakes they made. Mole must work extra hard to fix things. He needs to find a way to bring back the joy of Christmas for all his friends.
