Thea Ruth White (born Thea Ruth Zitzner; April 15, 1940 – July 30, 2021) was an American voice actress. She was most famous for being the voice of Muriel Bagge. Muriel is a kind old lady in the popular animated TV show Courage the Cowardly Dog.

About Thea White's Early Life
Thea White was born in Newark, New Jersey, on April 15, 1940. Her parents were Arthur and Theatrice Zitzner. Her mother, Theatrice, and her grandmother, Eva, were both actresses. Theatrice started acting as a child. Eva began acting as a teenager.
When Thea was 12 years old, her family moved to North Caldwell. After high school, she studied acting. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She also studied at the American Theater Wing.
Thea White's Career in Acting
Thea White began her acting career on stage. She performed in several plays in Dallas, Texas. She acted in Broadway shows and other theater productions. During this time, she also worked as a personal assistant. She helped the famous actress Marlene Dietrich later in her career.
After getting married, Thea White stopped acting for a while. She became a librarian instead. She worked as an outreach specialist at the Livingston Public Library. This library is in Livingston, New Jersey.
She returned to acting when she got a special offer. She was asked to voice Muriel Bagge. This character was for Cartoon Network's show Courage the Cowardly Dog. She voiced Muriel for the entire series. She also played Muriel in the 2006 video game Cartoon Network Racing. Later, she voiced Muriel in the 2014 short film The Fog of Courage. Her final role as Muriel was in the 2021 Scooby-Doo! crossover movie. This movie was called Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Thea White's Personal Life
Thea White lived in Caldwell. She met her husband, Andy White, while acting. They were both in a play called Goodbye Charlie. They got married in 1983. They stayed married until Andy passed away in 2015. Andy White was a drummer. He was famous for playing drums on "Love Me Do". This was the very first song by The Beatles.
Thea White passed away on July 30, 2021. She was 81 years old. She died from an infection at the Cleveland Clinic.
