The Third Ponta Cabinet was like the main team that ran the country of Romania. This team worked from March 5 to December 13, 2014. It was led by Victor Ponta, who was the Prime Minister.
This government team got its job after the country's Parliament (which is like Romania's main law-making group) voted to approve them. The Third Ponta Cabinet was supported by several political parties working together. These parties included the PSD, UNPR, PC, and PLR. Later, in December 2014, another party called UDMR decided to leave the government. This happened after a presidential election where a different candidate, Klaus Iohannis, won a lot of votes in areas where many ethnic Hungarians live.
How the Government Team Was Formed
The Third Ponta Cabinet was officially approved by the Romanian Parliament on March 4, 2014. The very next evening, on March 5, the members of the cabinet took an oath. This important event happened with President Traian Băsescu present. Taking an oath means they promised to do their best for the country.
Who Was in the Team: Cabinet Members
