Thomas John Law, born on December 17, 1992, is an actor and singer from England. He is famous for playing the character of Peter Beale in the BBC show EastEnders. He first played Peter from 2006 to 2010. Then, he returned to the role in 2023. From 2021 to 2023, he also starred as DC Eddie Martin in the ITV drama The Bay.

Thomas Law's Early Life

Thomas Law was born in a place called Potters Bar in Hertfordshire, England. His parents are Trish and Robert Law. He grew up in Potters Bar with his two older sisters. He also has family living in Australia. Thomas went to Chancellor's School in Brookmans Park.

Thomas Law's Acting Career

Thomas Law started his career very young. He began modelling when he was just four years old. His first TV appearance was in 2005. He had a recurring role in the BBC One show Casualty. He later returned to Casualty for a guest role in 2014.

Playing Peter Beale in EastEnders

In 2006, Thomas Law took on the role of Peter Beale in EastEnders. He was the fifth actor to play this character. In 2008, a scene he was in was nominated for a special award. This was for the Spectacular Scene of the Year at the British Soap Awards.

In November 2010, it was announced that Thomas would be leaving EastEnders. He had been on the show for four years. His last appearance was in December 2010. Other actors later played Peter Beale after Thomas left.

In June 2023, Thomas Law made a surprise return to EastEnders. He started playing Peter Beale again. This return was part of a big storyline. It brought back Peter's parents, Cindy Beale and Ian Beale. His character also reunited with the mother of his child, Lauren Branning. It was then announced that Thomas would stay on the show permanently.

Other Acting Roles and Stage Work

In 2011, Thomas Law performed on stage for the first time. He played the main character in the play Peter Pan. He also played the character Ste in the 2015 UK tour of Beautiful Thing. He acted alongside Sam Jackson and Charlie Brooks in this play.

Thomas also had small roles in movies. He was in The World's End in 2013. In 2015, he appeared in Unhallowed Ground. He was also in Gutterdämmerung and the American musical A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits in 2016. In A Cinderella Story, he acted with Sofia Carson.

In 2021, Thomas joined the cast of the ITV crime drama The Bay. He played DC Eddie Martin in the second series. The newspaper Metro called this his "small screen comeback." He continued to appear in the third and fourth series of The Bay. However, his departure from the show was announced in 2023. This was because of his busy schedule with EastEnders.

Thomas Law's Charity Work

Thomas Law has also done a lot of work for charity. In 2007 and 2008, he took part in Children In Need. He did this alongside other actors from EastEnders. He also played in the Alan Ball Memorial Cup in 2007. He helped open the kitchens at the University Hospitals of Leicester.

In December 2007, Thomas visited Luton & Dunstable Hospital. His aunt invited him there. He spent time with children who had to stay in the hospital over Christmas. A hospital spokesperson said Thomas "gave a big chunk of his time." They also said he was "very pleasant, mature and humble." He really focused on the children and how they felt.

In February 2010, Thomas attended a special event. He joined other EastEnders cast members. They raised money for people affected by the 2010 Haiti earthquake. This event took place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
