Thorapalli, also known as Thorapalli Agraharam, is a small village in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, India. It sits right by the Ponnaiyar river, about 6 kilometers (4 miles) south-east of Hosur. This village is also close to a major road, National Highway 44, and is about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the big city of Bangalore.
Thorapalli is famous as the birthplace of C. Rajagopalachari. He was a very important leader, serving as the last Governor-General of India and also as the second chief minister of Madras State (which is now called Tamil Nadu).
